In 1964 due to challenging business conditions the company joined a conglomerate of watch manufacturers called Schweizerischen Gesellschaft für Uhrenindustrie A.G. (SGU). However, this did not solve all the difficulties and, in 1965, the company was sold to SSIH.
After the takeover of the Langendorf Watch Company by SSIH, watches with the Lanco brand name were made with the same movements as found in Omega and Tissot branded watches.
Production at Langendorf ended in 1973 and the factory was replaced by a shopping centre, but the Lanco name lived on, it is now owned by The Swatch Group.
