Jeg kontaktet Stowa for en ukes tid siden, hvor jeg lurte på om de hadde planer om å "re-release" den etterspurte fligeren med manuelt urverk. På nettet går det mange rykter om at denne skal bli lansert tidlig 2012.
Tenkte dette kunne være av interesse for flere her inne, så poster her svaret jeg mottok fra Stowa:
Dear Flieger Original enthusiast,
during the past months we have put a lot time, energy and also money in our development for the Flieger Original movement, in order to bring our great favourite Flieger Original back on the market again.
Sadly all our efforts in the new movement have been to no effect due to multiple technical and logistical issues.
Hence we decided to take the unusual STOWA-path and keep this project aside for the moment.
Of course, in the background we will still try to bring this project further in order to be able to present you a reasonable solution for this watch model within the next years.
But on a short and middle time projection there will be definately no satisfying result for both of us.
Maybe there will be a in-house production or we try to find an external supplier who is able to modify our DUROWE movement as per our requirements.
There are quite a few facilities on the market, but it actually needs a few more "gears" to engage with each other to get a movement technically, optically and logistically running.
To come to the bottom line: we do not want to try the patience once more of those who were waiting for this special movement for years now and kindly suggest to "release" the saved budget for another STOWA or any other watch.
In order to show you, that we really worked hard on a final solution regarding the FO movement, find attached image of the movement on current development status.
There you can see the the raw movement as well as the nicely decorated movement.
We will not give up to bring this project further, but we can not fix a deadline when the project will be finalised, as we ourselfs can see no light at the end of the tunnel yet.
At the moment we are working on projects which are reliable and available.
