Kanskje, kanskje ikke. Vi får se. While I see Omega's plan as shortsighted and lame to say the least, I don't know any watchmakers outside of Norway that expect to have problems regarding parts, and all of these guys have been in business a long time.

Just to set the record straight, as there seems to be a bit of presumption floating around on these pages, I use Paul Mason to service my watches for sale on Finn.no. Mason is a long-time Fellow of the British Horological Institute, and came in third in Europe in his Final horological exams...

Thanks for the input, Arne. If you have 50 year old Omega Seamaster, even serviced, that runs + or - 6 seconds a day, you can always show it to Omega in Switzerland. They'll be amazed, and then you can get chronometer certification...:cool:

It's unreasonable to expect a decades-old watch, even serviced, to perform like new, and a +/- 1 minute a day rate for most any 30-60 year old watch isn’t too bad in my opinion, especially for watches that may not have been capable of chronometer performance when new. The definition of...

COSC (Contrôle Officiel Suisse des Chronomètres) is the body that sets the chronometer standard and in any case would only have applied to the watch when new, not 54 years later. A Seamaster is not a chronometer.
