Using Sellita instead of ETA - pricing issue
Food for thought...

Thanks everyone.
Regarding the movement, it is a little confusing, isn't it? We all know that, previously, IWC used ETA ebauches which they then worked on to create much-improved movements. Then ETA stopped selling ebauches and IWC used completed movements built to their specifications (though I've never managed to find out what that means).
Several sources are now saying that they are using the Sellita clones of ETA movements which makes sense since Swatch are cutting off the supply of ETA movements to most non-Swatch companies.
Regardless, I don't require anything from the movement here other than reliability. For me, this watch is about other things. The case and bracelet are handsome, distinctive and beautiful without being pretty or overly-fussy. It is a hugely successful update from an aesthetic point of view. The size is perfect and wearable and the whole thing feels like it has been constructed about as well as it's possible to make a watch. Of all the watches that I have ever owned only my Hour Vision (on bracelet) feels even vaguely close.
