Story of Kim Jong Il
Pyongyang, February 19 (KCNA) -- It happened one day in May 2001 when General Secretary Kim Jong Il visited the Naedong Co-op Farm, Kangryong County of South Hwanghae Province which underwent a dramatic change through land realignment.
Feasting his eyes on the Naedong plain where standardized vast paddy fields replaced the small patches of rice fields that existed for centuries, he told the officials accompanying him that this reality can be called a tremendous change.
After a few minutes, he said that it was nice and gratifying to see the realigned fields. He told an official that if he invites artists to visit here and draw paintings on the scenery of the co-op fields alive with rice-transplantation, they would produce very splendid works.
He, his face beaming with a broad smile, said artists should successfully draw paintings on the socialist co-op fields whose appearance has changed beyond recognition in the era of Songun so that they may be handed down to the generations to come.
The officials were overcome with deep emotion, looking up to Kim Jong Il making journeys for devoted service for the prosperity of the country and the happiness of its people.
