How your watch works
Your universal-time watch has three different dials. Starting from the outside,
the dials are :
– The 12-hour dial (1), fixed (engraved on the case bezel) : the hour, minute
and seconds hands enable you to read off the local time and date as on a
traditional watch.
– The 24-hour dial (2), fixed : this dial divides up die day into 24 hours. It
enables you to read off the universal time : you know what time it is in New
York, Tokyo or Bombay.
– The time-zone dial (3), indexable : this dial is divided into 24 time-zones.
Consequently, it performs a complete rotation about its axis every
24 hours. For each time zone the dial shows a city* located in that zone*.
As the minutes are the same in all time zones, you still read off de minutes
from the 12-hour dial (1).
