This has happened since the first ever watch was made, even before Rolex was created.
For ages, most of the watch companies worked toguether and shared designs and features and it was never an issue.
For ages, similar designs have come into the market to cover all pocket levels and nobody complained...
Today, one of the strongest marketing tricks is to sell you something that "separates" the buyer from the rest and we have acquired this feeling that anything that is not "the real thing" should be dismissed as worthless wannabe rubbish.
In fact, one of the reasons for the existance of fakes, is the desire to have "the real thing" but not being able to afford it.
In my opinion, honest watches which base their design in anything already in the market have their place amongst the "real deal" and the plain fakes.
Some of them also demonstrate that the cost of quality is not 1k and over....
Great or successful designs have been always copied or imitated, and never before we have been so obssessed with exclusivity which is a consecuence of modern sales techniques more than anything else...
Same applies to movements and parts, Rolex, Movado and many others used the Valjoux 72 for their chronos, did anyone complain ? or sue each other ? no, did Rolex have a go at Tag or Sandoz or many others for "looking" like their Subs ? no...we should really remember this a leave this crap alone...
